A Message from Mark Clarke, President of Jumpstreet Tours

What does a grade eight class trip to DC, or a French language Quebec City student tour have to do with Yoga? Probably not much in general. However, when I sit in perfect pose I am immediately brought into focus - I am reminded that the world is not about me but if I pay respectful attention I understand that the world wants me to be an integral part of it.

Jumpstreet Tours is about you, the tour organizer. If my business and I pay mindful attention to you, your students, and your community at large by putting you first, then you will want us to be an integral part of your world. This is exactly what we have been doing for 26 years and counting.

This is our first 'President’s Blog' post and I intend to use this opportunity with a hope to add value to your lives both professionally and personally by introducing you to web sites, services, music, and other ideas that I source with educators like you in mind.

The first site I'm sharing with you is #Instafame, an extraordinary multimedia resource to help us better understand the role that social media plays for our youth. There are videos, workshops, and articles, such as this piece on how social media can be used positively. If you have no use for this site please pass it on to the people at your school who do.

For 26 years and counting, my brother Tom and I have run Jumpstreet Educational Tours. We've crafted thoughtful and immersive class trips to Montreal and Quebec City; we've delighted teacher tour organizers and their student groups in New York City; we've trained our Tour Leaders to bring out the best in your student tours to Europe and other international destinations. All the while maintaining a strict philosophy that this perfect job that I love so dearly should bring me into immediate focus that all of this is not about me.

In closing, I urge you to try Jumpstreet for your educational group tour needs.

Thank you, and Happy New Year!
