Before you Instagram that mountain of poutine you're about to eat during your Montreal school trip, or search Google Maps for directions to Central Park during your  class trip to New York, your cell phone bill is begging you to read this. Many phone plans include unlimited calls, texts, even data plans nationwide, but as soon as you go abroad you could be looking at hundreds of dollars in additional fees.

Let’s say you're on one of Jumpstreet Tours' student tours to Europe. You’ve landed in Paris and you’d like to check the weather. You open the weather app on your phone and find the info you’re looking for. You then share a selfie on Facebook and Instagram, followed by a quick email to parents informing them that the group arrived safely. You then attach a group photo to the email. This otherwise normal, 2-minute interaction could cost you up to 75$! And you haven't even arrived at your destination yet! It adds up fast.
